"Things just look like they end up looking" is a project aimed at promoting the cultural heritage of the Maggia Valley (Ticino, Switzerland), born out of a personal exploration of the area. At the heart of the project lies the barn: a modest building, constructed out of sheer necessity and without any artistic ambition, yet essential to rural life in this valley for centuries. Shaped by its surroundings, each barn stands as a silent witness and symbol of a reality that preceded us. Brought together in a book, ten examples selected for their architectural diversity become, through images and notes, an invitation to pause and explore the “aesthetics of necessity”.
